Oluwaseun Adelaja

Oluwaseun Elizabeth Adelaja (b. January 8, 1998) is a Nigerian-born visual artist working across painting, photography, and drawing. Raised in Ogun State, Nigeria, her early exposure to visual storytelling shaped her interest in creative expression and human-centred narratives.

She studied Creative Arts at Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State, graduating in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.Ed), Second Class Upper Division (CGPA 4.2). Her academic training strengthened her technical and conceptual skills through rigorous studio practice and critical engagement, guided by respected mentors including Mr. Adekoya Samson (Samkay), Professor Abiodun Banjo, Professor Olatuji Idowu, Dr. Kafar, and Mr. Abiodun Abodunrin.

Oluwaseun’s practice is intuitive and expressive, drawing from personal experience, cultural memory, and human presence. Working fluidly across multiple media, she develops a cohesive and evolving visual language. Now based in Hull, United Kingdom, she continues to expand her practice while contributing to arts education through teaching and community painting workshops.
